AMES National LABS DOE INTERNSHIPS

Ames National Laboratory is excited to announce the Department of Energy Science
Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) is now open for applications for the 2023 Summer
Term. Applications are due January 10, 2023 at 5:00 PM ET.

The Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program encourages undergraduate
students and recent graduates to pursue science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM) careers by providing research experiences at the Ames Lab. Selected students perform
research, under the guidance of laboratory staff scientists or engineers, on projects supporting the
DOE mission. Students from across the country spend 16 weeks in the spring semester in our
SULI program.
Student will receive:

       • $ 650/weekly stipend
       • Housing in Iowa State University apartments OR $190/weekly housing allowance
       • Up to $ 500 towards travel

We focus on your success! Our students receive guidance from PhD scientists/mentors and work
in an exciting research environment alongside scientists, postdocs and graduate students. In
addition, students interact with scientists in diverse research areas throughout the Ames Lab via
research talks and tours. Many students use their research experience to generate journal articles
for print in national publications.
